GAMING!!!

It's so weird how many times people tried to get video games banned, like sure some of them are violent, but how is that any different than other forms of media?

Are they just jealous that they don't find them fun?

I am what you would consider a pro gamer... ladies please, one at a time.
Nah, but seriously, I love gaming, not just playing them though, I love the history of gaming, the tech, the community, everything! It's a beautiful art form.

If it wasn't already apparent from the lambdas moving around in the background, I almost entirely play on PC, see Figure 1-1, because it is the best way to play games, fight me console users, the only thing you guys got is affordability, and PC can have that too if you're willing to sacrifice some performance, not to mention... it's a PC, you can run any program you want on it.

please, my lord

Figure 1-1. Me praying to the great GabeN, asking him for when he will release HL3, and if my brother is a worthy sacrifice for HL3... he is not... I don't blame him.

Anyways, I do also play on "retro" consoles, I'm talking like the Wii and the PS2, so like ""retro"" retro. I do also play on older consoles (if the game is cool enough) I just don't own the consoles themself; I emulate them... although, I would love to own them. Anyways, I'ma use the rest of this page to talk about some of my favorite games, in no particular order of course.

Team Fortress 2

*Soldier laugh*

At 696.9 hours (nice) of playtime as of writing this, this is by far the most amount of time I have spent in one game, Rookie numbers to most TF2 players, I know, but I have something that other players don't have... a life.

In my humble opinion, this is THE best class based shooter out there, theres no competition. It has some amazing (and often goofy) gameplay, the classes are quite well desined, both from a gameplay and artistic standpoint, and has survived the test of time, I mean, this game is older than me for crying out loud! One of the things I love about it how insane some of the weapons are, we got a crossbow that heals teammates, but hurts enemies and the damage is reversed from what it normally does, the farther you are, the more damage you will take/give. Theres also a shovel that will do max damage only if you're in the air, a rocket launcher that does no damage, a cannon that will stun you if you get hit by its projectile twice, a knife that will turn you into ice, a pan that will turn you into gold, a fucking fish, and many, many more. TF2 also has some very unique tecs, like rocket/sticky jumping and air strafing which can send a player to the other side of the map in no time, if they know what they are doing. I really love how they made the classes like it's a game of rock paper sizzors, spy beats engi, but pyro beats spy (and any projectile thats coming at them tbh), and... well everything pretty much beats pyro, but you see what I'm saying, right? It's all batshit insane, and yet, it all works beautifully together (for the most part at least). I'm very glad that the community for this game is still going strong to this day, even with Valve largly neglecting it. Really friggin' good game.

Oh, and I main engi btw.

Garry's Mod

I am the friggin' scout here!

There is no better game to play with the homiees than this one. You got all of the base models from Half-Life 2, which is like at least a good weeks worth of entertainment right there, and then you got the workshop, ooh boy the workshop. There are few things that are as fascinating as the GMod workshop. You got shit ranging from "oh hey this is actually pretty cool and useful" to "...what the fuck‽‽". Without the workshop, this game would've been popular for, idk, a year or two at most, but with the workshop, it suddenly transforms into an entirely new thing that can rage from a funny little sandbox game to a fully fledge stop-motion animation software. I could be trying to make a working car with random props and the toolgun while my friend is deploying 10 Freddy Fazbears that will kill onsite. This game is a homebrewers paradise right here. GabeN was a friggin' genius for making this into a separate game rather than just a HL2 mod. An absolute must-play (if you haven't already) for the creative and the mentally derragned.

Fallout

I feel fantastic.

War, War Never Changes.

Ok, before I start talking about this, let me just get one thing clear, FUCK BETHESDA, as you were.

When I say Fallout here, I'm talking about Fallout 3, New Vegas, and 4, because those are the only ones I've played, (technically, I've also played Fallout 1, but I kinda got bored of it lol, I may try and actually play it someday). New Vegas is my favorite, with 4 and 3 following behind. I'm the kinda homie that will read everything and do every side quest, so the amount of detail they put into the story aspect of the games is really appreciated. Absoululy love walking into a random building and learning what happened to some random ass people who worked there hundreds of years ago, while stealing everything thats not bolted down, then selling all the junk I don't need to a poor trader that happened to cross my path, amazing gameplay experience.

The combat is alright. I kinda wish VATS wern't a thing, rather just go with a standard fps combat system, but the ciematic shots are pretty cool, and hoping to get a mysterious stranger appearance every time does like cancel it out, or something. Pretty cool franchise, wish Bethesda wasn't absolutely delusional.

More Coming Soon!
